Little Mule Co is a bicycle cafe tucked away on a side alley off of Little Bourke Street. I would have missed it had I taken the alleyway construction at face value. Did the cafe relegate the full service bike shop to the rear, or did the bike shop shoehorn its way into the cafe? I couldn’t make out its evolution.
Smashed avocado with feta, lemon with poached egg on sourdough. Delicious.
Baked eggs with ratatouille, tucked away at one end of Hardware Lane, shrouded in butterfly wallpaper.
Opposite Hardware Lane from The Hardware Societe is Silo. I sat at the bar and watched the early morning staff churn out chocolate chip cookies and polenta from scratch. Coddled eggs were delivered with perfection from an immersion circulator water bath and paired with salamander-crisped german bacon and chutney.
This market is a sprawling expanse of flowers, clothing, chotchkies, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
